January 2015

Hockey is on the minds of many Chicagoans whether playing for fun during this icy start to 2015 or following the progress of the beloved Blackhawks. With hockey being one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S., Greenleaf is pleased that our new physician M. Mustafa Gombera, M.D. brings with him considerable expertise in treatment of hockey-related injuries. Dr. Gombera, with his specialty in sports medicine, has served as assistant team physician for the University of Michigan hockey team as well as for the Chicago Blackhawks. He looks forward to treating hockey players in the community - both young and "mature" - to get them back on the ice as quickly and safely as possible.

Check out the following link to an excellent article on prevention of hockey-related injuries. Also note this great candid photo of Dr. Gombera and his family with the 2013 Stanley Cup. Go Hawks!
