Dr. Smyth is excited to join Greenleaf Orthopaedics. Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Smyth graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Molecular and Cellular biology. He then went on to receive his Medical Doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society for his academic excellence.

Follow medical school, Dr. Smyth completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the esteemed Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN. Additionally, he spent a year sub-specializing in orthopaedic sports medicine at the University of Chicago. Throughout his training, he has worked with team physicians for the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Memphis Redbirds (AAA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals), the University of Memphis and the University of Chicago as well as numerous high schools in the Memphis and Chicago areas.

Dr. Smyth provides care for general orthopaedic injuries. His subspecialty interests include sports injuries and arthroscopic treatment of injuries to the hip, knee, ankle and shoulder as well as shoulder arthroplasty. Dr. Smyth complements Greenleaf Orthopaedic's current physician care to meet all of your orthopaedic needs.
